Project Overview:
This $70+M tunnel project included the complete removal of two bridges in downtown Middlebury, VT and replacement with a new rail tunnel under Main Street. The tunnel portion of this project included installation of a new rail bed and rails in the tunnel common. All downtown utilities were replaced, and a new storm water system was installed as well. EIV staffers were responsible for construction inspection and office engineering services, providing ongoing assurance of safety compliance, monitoring the jobsite for compliance with all environmental permits and plans, surveying, material volume estimates and daily reporting of activities.
