Berlin Bridge Deck Replacement

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This $6M bridge rehabilitation project includes the replacement of the concrete decks, approach slabs, and bridge and approach rail for four bridges on I-89 in the Town of Berlin, VT on I-89 over Crosstown Road and VT 62. The existing bridge railings and approach railings will be replaced with new railings that meet the current design standards. The bridges are owned and maintained by the State of Vermont. The existing structures are a single span cast-in-place deck on steel beams and a two-span cast-in-place deck on steel beams.

EIV is providing construction inspection and public outreach services on this project. Responsibilities include plan and submittal review, calculating and checking pay quantities using Blue Beam, checking elevations and beam profiles, onsite concrete and hot mix asphalt paving inspection, and assistance with the environmental inspection.
