St. Johnsbury, VT
Park and Ride Improvements

Client: City of St. Johnsbury, VT
Project Span: 2019-2020

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This $925K Park-and-Ride project located in the town of St. Johnsbury, VT at the intersection of U.S. Route 2 and Vermont Route 2B includes reconstruction of the existing lot, construction of a bus shelter, 87 parking spaces, pavement markings, lighting and other appurtenances. In order to complete all necessary upgrades at this location, a full closure of the Park-and-Ride has been required.

EIV continues to provide outreach for this heavily-used Park-and-Ride. The Agency of Transportation was unable to make arrangements to support a formal temporary location for users, so outreach efforts needed to be dynamic and creative. Throughout the closure period, EIV worked with the local municipality to find suitable alternatives for users if needed. Communication with public and private transit companies, adjacent businesses, and interaction with Park-and-Ride users were all essential elements of EIV’s thorough outreach strategies.
